Cope, March 24 - Mrs. Rozzie Nell Spires, 31, wife of Rudolph Spires, died at 3 o'clock this afternoon at her home near Cope after an illness of several months. She was born in Orangeburg County, daughter of the late Pet Harley and Mrs. David Jackson, and had lived in this county all her life. Survivors include her husband; her mother; three daughters, Mrs. Pauline Hutto, Gladys Ann and Alice Faye Spires; four sons, Mike Richard, Billy Ray, E. L. and Eddy Arnold Spires, all of Cope; eight sisters, Mrs. Vessie Sires [Spires] of Salley, Mrs. W. D. Gartman, Mrs. Luther Hutto, Mrs. Julia Baughman and Mrs. Vivial [Vivian] Young of Neeses, Mrs. Marion Spires of North, Mrs. Richard Vasu of Loraine, Ohio, and Mrs Boyce Spires of Cordova; one brother, Jesse Harley of Springfield, and a number of nieces and nephews. © The State, Columbia, SC, 25 Mar 1954

Cope, March 25 - Funeral services for Mrs. Rozzie Nell Spires, who died Wednesday at her home near Cope, will be conducted at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon from the Mount Beulah Pentecostal Church, near Neeses, by the pastor, the Rev.
