Huldah Ida Eleanore Wallgren was born on December 11, 1882, in Ishpeming, MI to Erik Ferdinand and Ida (Qvarfot) Wallgren..

Huldah was 6 years old when father Erik Wallgren died in Ishpeming. When Hulda grew up she worked in Carlton, then Cloquet, MN for the Weyerhauser family, taking care of their daughter Margaret. She benefited from Margaret's tutors and got a good education, also traveled with them.

Huldah married Ernest Carlson on June 26, 1909 in Cloquet, MN

Huldah and Ernest sang in the choir in Swedish Lutheran Church, Cloquet, where they were married. They lost everything in the Cloquet, MN fire of 1918. Huldah, Ernest and family moved to Proctor, MN, in March of 1928, where he got a job as head plumber and pipe-fitter for Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range Railway. Huldah owned and operated a variety store on the corner of 4th Street and 2nd Ave. They observed their 50-year anniversary in 1959. They joined Immanuel Lutheran Church.

After Ernest's death, Huldah lived along until she was 89 years old. She then moved in with daughter Agnes and husband Bill Jugasek. She lived with them 2 years and seven months, then moved in with granddaughter Bonnie Jugasek and husband Mike Maeckelbergh for one year. At 93, she went to Wesley Residence, Rooming and Boarding Home in West Duluth, where she lived for 4 years. She fell while there, but didn't break any bones, but had to be in a wheelchair, consequently moving to a nursing Home--Lake Haven Manor, Duluth. Her 100th birthday was celebrated at the Home December 11, 1982. She loved company and enjoyed all her great-grandchildren.
