Betty Lee Fairchild, 71, of Lore City, died Monday (July 6, 1998) at her home.

She was born May 21, 1927, in Guernsey County, daughter of the late Frank and Mary Kennedy Booth.

Mrs. Fairchild was a homemaker, a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church and attended Freedom Worship Center. She was a member of Guernsey County Senior Citizens and she was a Sunday school teacher for 40 years. She played and sang in the Fairchild Band. She graduated from Old Guernsey School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Brooks Fairchild whom she married Feb. 8, 1947, and who died Jan. 10, 1991; a daughter, Brooksene Diane Fairchild; two sisters, and five brothers.

She leaves a son, David (Helen) Fairchild of Cambridge; a brother, Richard Booth of Massillon; three sisters, Marge Vetters of Washington, Nancy Clark of Louisiana, Norma Jane Reasoner of Massillon; two grandchildren, Randy and Ryan Fairchild.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be 1 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Donald Glass officiating.

Burial will be in Center Cemetery.
