Mrs. Wanda Hicks Barker, 80, of Hamburg, died Friday, April 27, 2012 at her residence in Hamburg. Mrs. Barker was a native of Kennett, Missouri; a resident of Hamburg since 1996 and a former resident of Fairview Heights, Illinois. She was a retired Nurses Aid and a member of the Assembly of God faith. She was an avid reader.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charley S. Barker in 2003; two daughters, Rhonda Sawyer and Cloressa Ann Hartley; a son, Charley G. Barker; a grandson, a granddaughter, two great-granddaughters; her parents, William & Oma Bennett Hicks; three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Barker of Collinsville, Illinois and Steve Barker of St. Louis, Missouri; a daughter, Kathy Norrell; a brother, Don Hicks and his wife, Anita, all of Hamburg; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Pullin officiating. Graveside services are 5 p.m., Tuesday, at the Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be her nephews and grandsons. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 N. University Ave., Little Rock, AR 72207.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
