Charley S. Barker, 77, of Hamburg died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at the Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, Arkansas. He was a native of Rector, a resident of Hamburg for the past seven years and a former resident of Fairview Heights, Illinois. He retired from the Continental Grain Company in 1990 after thirty-three years of service and was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Fairmont City Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cloressa Ann Hartley; one son, Charley G. Barker; his parents, William and Bertha Edwards Barker; and two brothers, Delbert and Denver Barker.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Wanda Hicks Barker of Hamburg; two sons, Gary Barker of Collinsville, IL, and Phillip Barker of Hillsboro, MO; two daughters, Kathy Norrell and Rhonda Sawyer, both of Hamburg; two sisters, Amrita Shaw of Rector and Loreta Owen of Paragould; seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were planned for 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 13, in the JonesHartshorn Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Mike Titsworth officiating. A grave-side service was to be at 5 p.m., Tuesday in the Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, AR, with Rev. Rondal Richardson officiating. Grandsons and Nephews were to serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made

to the Eden Baptist Church, 3748 Hwy 133 North, Hamburg, Arkansas 71646.
