Son of Carl Alston and Nora Cave, Cecil was blinded
in one eye as a child. That never kept him from
living life to the fullest, including serving in
World War II - it just kept him state side.

Services for Cecil Fowler Alston, 64, Tyler are
scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday in the Memorial
Funeral Home chapel, Tyler, with the Rev. James
L. Fortner officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery;
Tyler, TX.

Mr. Alston died Thursday at a local hospital
after a sudden illness.

He was born July 9, 1926, in Snyder. He lived
in Tyler since 1971 and was owner and operator
of Alston Upholstery. He was a World War II
veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Billie Ruth
Alston, Tyler; son, Rick Alston, Coleman; three
daughters, Terry Curren, Sweetwater, Sherry
Beall, Snyder, Jerry Calhoun, Gatesville; a
brother, Carl Alston, Sweetwater; four sisters,
Vada Merle Wagner, New Mexico, Luella Cox,
Breckenridge, Imogene Ross, Grandbury, and
Katie Posten, Sweetwater; 17 grandchildren;
and four great-grandchildren.
