Her sister Elizabeth was the first to emigrate to America, followed by her parents and siblings a few years later.
Around 1885, Julia met and married Levi Butler in Cortland,NY. The 1892 NYS census shows them with their 1 year old daughter, Annie. Julia had 2 more children: Vera,b.1894, and John J.,b.1897.
Just 2 years later, Julia died of consumption on November 15, 1898, at their home, 29 Pendleton St.
Julia's 2 sisters, Anna and Alice, and her brother Patrick, having recently arrived from Ireland, were living with the family when Julia died. Levi took Patrick to work at the Howe Ventilating Stove Company which Levi managed; and he then took Julia's sister Anna as his wife.
Around 1905 Levi moved his family to Rochester where he and Anna raised the children in the Catholic Church, perhaps to honor Julia's wishes, as Levi had not converted.
After the death of Julia and Anna's father in 1905, Levi brought their mother Anna to live with them in Rochester. There is also an Edward Walsh with them in the 1910 census, likely Julia's brother as he's listed as Levi's brother-in-law.
As of this writing, I have not located the Walshes in Ireland or coming into America, with the exception of Anna whom I found at Ellis Island in 1897, but stating that this was a re-entry. She was returning from Tralee, in County Kerry.
I would welcome any information anyone may have about the family's arrival, or anything else.
