Henry D. Schafer, a well known resident of this city for many years, died at 7:40 o'clock last evening in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gardner Morgan, 225 Madison St. Mr. Schafer was 63 years old. For many years he resided at Washington Heights and was engaged in the waste paper business.
For the past two years he had been in poor health. He was a native of Germany and came to this city when he was 11 years old.
Mr. Schafer was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and also trustee of the Easton Nest of Owls and the Easton Herd of Buffaloes, both of which he assisted in organizing and where he served through the various chairs.
