Aunt Shirley worked at Champion Spark Plug Company and that was where she met my Uncle Ted. She then became a housewife. Uncle Ted had 3 children from a previous marriage and his youngest was in high school when they married. Spent the weekdays in town and weekends at the cottage (Reno Beach). Many, many long hours sitting on that rocking boat on Lake Erie by the water intake catching perch. Washing your pop bottle off in Lake Erie since the cooler of pop also held the fish. Still to this day cannot drink 7-up (I can still smell the fish, LOL) Aunt Shirley made the best fried perch and fried chicken. Since my Mom worked Sundays, Dad and us kids spent many a Sunday with Aunt Shirley and Uncle Ted. Many happy memories of them both. They were more than an Aunt and Uncle they were our Grandparents since our Grandparents were all deceased. Miss them both very much.
