Her father was of Revolutionary War era. He came to Kentucky about 1800, per tax records. Abner d. in Middletown, Jefferson Co. KY, per family records, but I have not located his nor Jane's graves. Eleanor Field was one of their twelve children, 7 sons and 5 daughters; many became leaders in several professions, and worthy citizens of society. Eleanor was wife of William Rannels VANCE, son of Rev. James and Ruth Glass VANCE. James was the first Presbyterian minister to Middletown, in 1799, who was a teacher of many early-day men of Jefferson Co. KY.
She was mother to at least three daughters, Ella Vance CUSTAR, of TN, Hester Vance GRAY and Anna Vance BROWN; and, two sons, Abner F(ield?), and Samuel D. b ca 1841.
