Alexander Pope Field was a lawyer, member of Illinois Legislature, 1822-28, Illinois secretary of state, 1829-40, Wisconsin Territory secretary, 1841-43, and moved to Louisiana in 1849 where he was attorney general, 1873-76. He married (1) Maria Kalfus (c1825-). In 1860, he was married to (2) Eliza Worthington Owings (1827-63), and four children were Alice Owings (1843-1940) who married Samuel Smith (-1887); Alexander Pope, Jr. (1846-68); Julia Eliza (1849-97); and Eugene Field (1852-1900). In 1870, he married (3) Mrs. Minnie E. Miller (c1840-), and a son was Webster? M. Field (c1862-).

Julia Eliza Field (1849-97) married in 1870, Isaac VanWart Dutcher (1844-97) and lived in St. Louis. Three children were Alice M. (c1871-), Maggie (1873-92), and Samuel Smith Dutcher (1875-1925).

Eugene Field (1852-1900) was a railroad agent in St. Louis, was married to Clara I. (c1855-), and a son was Alexander Milton Field (1874-1969) who lived in Webster Groves, Mo. The latter was manager for Iron Range Co. and married Oleatha Maude (1878-1964). Five children were Eugene R. (1898-1987), Dorothy (c1902-), Alexander (c1904-), Alice (c1910-), and 1Lt. Robert E. Field (1917-45) who died in WWII and is buried in Manila.
