Judge William Field, son of Major Abner (1752-1831) and Jane Pope Field (1772-1852), was born in Jefferson County, Ky. in 1796. He moved to Arkansas in 1830 and was the Superior Court clerk and later judge of the 5th circuit court for Johnson, Yell, Pope, and Conway Counties. He married in 1819, a cousin Mildred Banks (1797-1859), daughter of Baylor (1775-) and Ann Slaughter Banks, of Jefferson County, Ky. Their ten children were Ann Baylor (1820-79); Jane Elizabeth (1822-57); James A. (1824-); Mary (1824-) who married Thomas Lewis, of Ky., and had issue; Ellen Judith (1825-86); Silas F. (1832-); Margaret (1837-); Benjamin Johnson (1839-81); Julian (1841-); and Florence Field (1843-).

Ellen Judith Field (1825-86) married in 1847, Col. Benjamin T. DuVal (1823-1905), son of Capt. William DuVal (1784-1851), of Maryland and Arkansas. He was a lawyer in Ft. Smith, Ark. They may have left issue.

Benjamin Johnson Field (1839-81) served in the Confederate Army. He married in 1868, Mary Weaver (1851-1932), daughter of Col. Samuel M. (1805-64) and Eliza Rose Weaver (1813-1904). Five children were Mildred (1871-72); Benjamin Johnson, Jr. (1872-1954) who married Mary Alice Herbert (1872-1938); Leila Hooper (1873-1948), Omer Weaver (1875-1924), and Samuel Montgomery Field (1877-1929). Omer Weaver Field (1875-1924) married in 1899, Adeline "Addie" Smith (1869-1960), daughter of William Fort (1839-97) and Judith Watts Smith (1841-83), by whom he had Mary Judith Field (1899-1982), born in Little Rock, who married Scott M. Julian (1896-1974). A son, LTJG Scott Milholland Julian, Jr. (1926-51), died in the Korean War aboard a mine sweeper.
