Cpl. U.S. Army, Vietnam War-Cpl. Munson was killed in action on 10-2-1969 while serving as an {11B10} Infantryman with Co. A of the 3rd Battalion of the 8th Infantry, 4th Infantry Division. Cpl. Munson started his tour of Vietnam on May 5, 1969.

He is the son of Mr. Edward D. Munson of 1011 East Livingston Street, Streator, Illinois, & Mrs. Betty J. Gribble of 439 Paseo Street, Kansas City, Missouri, and is a 1967 graduate of Streator H.S.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal.
