Victor Bader was born October 28, 1900 on a farm near Virgil, South Dakota to Christian and Anna (Horn) Bader. He attended the rural Kuehl school. He and his brothers and neighbors spent many hours hunting, fishing and skating on Sand Creek. He and his brother farmed the homeplace and adjoining land and raised Hereford cattle and hogs. After their father died, the homeplace went to Gustave and then to Ella and himself. He made is home on the homestead farm near Virgil until March 3, 1988, when he became a resident of Westkota Manor, Wessington Springs. South Dakota. He died at the Westkota Manor on November 15, 1990
He is survived by one sister, Ida Connelly of Torrington, Wyoming; one nephew and his wife, Darrell and Arlys Bader of Virgil; five nieces and their husbands, Deanna Bader of Virgil, Winifred and Raymond Cottrell of Mills, Wyoming, Marion and Ozzie Randall of Mitchell, Nebraska, Madonna Miller of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Kate and Larry Brooks of Gary, Nebraska; and many great nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Christian and Gustave Bader, and one sister, Ella Bader.
