EAST STONE GAP, Va. - Nell Qualls, 87, passed away Monday (May 2, 2005) at her home.
She was a lifelong resident of East Stone Gap and a member of the East Stone Gap Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Qualls; her parents, John and Florence (Stidham) Shupe; brother, Bill Shupe.
Surviving are three daughters, Jean Horner of Clinton, N.C., Betty Sue Osborne and husband, Don, of Bristol, Tenn., and Mary Lou Stanley and husband, Bobby, Thurmont, Md.; two sons, Billy Qualls and wife, Evelyn, of East Stone Gap, and Ted Qualls and wife, Lennettie, of Clinton, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mamie Shupe, of Big Stone Gap, Va.; and one niece and one nephew.
Graveside services only will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Riverview Cemetery in East Stone Gap with the Rev. Bill Hughes officiating.
Family and friends will meet at Holding Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
Holding Funeral Home, Big Stone Gap, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
