Toledo Chronicle, Thursday July 20th, 1911 page 1
Miss Mary McAnulty was born in Berks county Pennsylvania, January 9, 1828 and died July 16, 1911. When fourteen years of age she joined the Methodist church at Old Forest, now St. Paul. Her life work was to do for others. In 1865 she came west to Toledo, Iowa which has been her home since. She was faithful to her God and church until the last but was deprived of the latter for years on account of her health. She leaves to mourn her loss, one sister, Mrs. Kathrine Rhodes and two brothers, W. H. and W. A. McAnulty of Toledo. The sister, Mrs. Rhodes was with her and cared for her during the last year and a half. The funeral was held at the home in the northwest part of town, at one o’clock on Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Roscoe Sires had charge of the services and gave a very appropriate sermon. The quartet which furnished the music for the services was made up of Miss Mary T. Louthan, Mrs. C. D. Jones, Isaac Giger and W. G. Malin. Mrs. H. P. Giger presided at the organ. The quartet sang "Rock of Ages” and “Asleep In Jesus.” Miss Louthan rendered “In The City.” The pall bearers were A. Sime, James Moorecroft, George Childs, Winn Applegate and Lyman Emerson. Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
