Wayne Braley Dixon, 69, died Tuesday at Memorial Medical Center after a long illness. He was a native of Bulloch County and lived in the area most of his life. He retired from Union Camp Paper Corp and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He attended the New Beginning Full Gospel Church.

He was survived by his wife, Nell N. Dixon of Pooler; a son, Charles W. Dixon of Eden; five sisters, Cassie Boaen and Alice Shurlmg, both of Stilson. Mamie Strickland and Janie B. Byrd, both of Garden City, and Ann Westberry of Savannah; a brother, Joe Cribbs of Griffin Lakes. He had five stepchildren, three grandchildren; and 15 step-grandchildren at the time of his passing.

Funeral was at Massey Chapel Funeral Home, burial in Greenwich Cemetery.
