Garden City - Mamie Morrison Strickland, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2007, at Hospice of Savannah after a long illness.

She was born in Bulloch County, Ga. April 8, 1910.

She spent much of her life as a farmer in Stilson, Ga., before moving to Garden City in 1959.

She was a member of Jasper Springs Baptist Church in Garden City, and the Willing Workers Sunday school class. Throughout her long life she lived as an example of hard work, determination and perseverance.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing and watching her family grow.

She will be missed by her daughter's family: Carol & Millard Lawson, Garden City, Ga.; grandchildren: Mill and Amy Lawson, Pooler, Ga., Leigh-Anne and Eric Long, Garden City, Ga.; great-grandsons: Logan Matthew Lawson, Pooler, Ga., Kaleb Daniel Long, Garden City, Ga., Tyler James Lawson, Pooler, Ga.; two sisters: Anne Westberry, Savannah, Georgia, Janie Branch, Garden City, Georgie; one brother: Joe C. Cribbs, Guyton, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2007 in the funeral home chapel.

Interment: Lane's Primitive Baptist Church, Stilson, Georgia.
