George B. Dixon Sr., 81, a native of Bulloch County, died Wednesday at Candler Hospital in Savannah after a short illness. George retired from Great Dane Trailers and was a member of Jasper Springs Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday school.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred A. Morris Dixon of Guyton; daughter, Linda Jane Dixon Sanders of Guyton; sons, George B. Dixon Jr. of Jesup and Charles M. Dixon of Marietta; five sisters, Cassie Dixon Boaen and Alice Dixon Shurling, both of Stilson, Mamie Dixon Hagan Morrison Strickland and Janie Elizabeth Dixon Branch Byrd, both of Garden City, and Bertie Aneese 'Anne' Dixon Westberry of Savannah; two brothers, Wayne B. Dixon of Pooler and Joseph 'Joe' C. Cribbs of Guyton; George was grandfather of six and great-grandfather of four at time of passing.

The Funeral was at Jasper Springs Baptist Church, followed by burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah.

Arrangements were by Thomas C Strickland Funeral Home, Rincon Chapel.
