Lena Dimmers Kunz was the daughter of John Dimmers and Theresia Schmitz Dimmers. She was baptized Mary Helena Hubertina Dimmers at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in New Market, but she apparently went by the name Lena as an adult.

Both the Scott County records and the baptismal records at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in New Market, MN list Lena Dimmers Kunz's birthdate as September 7, 1890. However, she seems to have believed that her birthdate was September 11, 1890 and she celebrated that date as her birthday throughout her life.

Lena married Albert R. Kunz on Jul 05, 1911 at St Mark's Catholic Church in Minneapolis MN. Lena and Albert had three children, Alice, Edna and Harold Kunz. Lena died at Lakeview Memorial Hospital in Stillwater, MN on January 15, 1985.
