He married Thercoia Schmitz on Jan 07, 1874 in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, New Prague, Le Sueur County, Minnesota, daughter of Peter Schmitz and Anna Esch. She was born 05 Sep 1852 in Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, and died 30 Sep 1938 in Hampton, Dakota County, Minnesota.

Daughter – Anna Christine Dimmers Kloeckner (Jun 10 1878 - May 14 1970)

John Dimmers (Dumers in military records), when 22 years old, enlisted on 2/11/1864 as a Private into "G" Co. MN 6th Infantry. He was Mustered Out on 8/19/1865 at Fort Snelling, MN.
