DOWNSVILLE, La., June 9 (Special) – Ellis Spurlock, 68, of Downsville died following a long illness Sunday. The funeral was held in Mt. Nebo Methodist Church Monday at 4 p.m. with Rev. Paul Durbin, pastor officiating. Interment was in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, directed by Kilpatrick Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife; the following sons: J. D. Spurlock, J.B. Spurlock and H.C. and L.L. Spurlock all of Downsville; Leroy Spurlock, J. H. Spurlock and J. L. Spurlock, all of Corpus Christi, Tex., and Murrell Spurlock, West Monroe, two daughters, Mrs. W. Powell, Bastrop and Mrs. V. Stillers, Calhoun; two sisters, Mrs. E. A. Roberson, Downsville and Mrs. T. C. Crawford, Farmerville; 35 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
