COOKEVILLE - Funeral services for Arthur Edward Allen, 69, of Cookeville will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Dodson Branch Cemetery in Jackson County.

The family is receiving friends at the funeral home.

Mr. Allen died on Monday, June 1, 1998, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

He was born on Dec. 3, 1928, in Jackson County to the late Harve D. and Lillie Mansell Allen. Mr. Allen worked in the Housekeeping Dept. of Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a member of the Red Man Club and a former member of the Jackson County Rescue Squad.

His family includes his wife, Dimple Roberts Allen of Cookeville; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Lisa Allen of Cookeville; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Earl Harris of Cookeville; three sisters, Martha Lou Garrison, Edith Holder and Frances Loftis, all of Cookeville; two granddaughters, Emily Alisha and Abbie Allen, both of Cookeville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffery Edward Harris.

Pallbearers will be David and Dale Allen, Mike Garrison, Grover Grogan, Alan and Danny Holder, Dale Roberts and Daniel Sherrell.

Bros. Ken Haney, Harold Walker and Joel Lauckner will officiate at the services
