Life Legacy
Funeral Services for Martha Lou Garrison, 82, of Cookeville will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Dodson Branch Freewill Baptist Church with interment in the Dodson Branch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 15, 2013, from 5:00 – 9:00 pm.
Ms. Garrison passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at Livingston Regional Hospital.
She was born September 30, 1931, in Jackson County, TN to the late Harvie D. Allen and Lillie C. Allen Green.
Ms. Garrison was a homemaker and was a member of the Dodson Branch Free Will Baptist Church. She loved her family and her church family and enjoyed spending time with them. She truly loved to sing and spent most of her adult life singing in her home church and churches in the surrounding counties. She had a great sense of humor and was always joking with her friends and family. Martha Lou was a unique woman and will be missed by many.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Mike and Sandy Garrison of Cookeville, a daughter: Patsy Mayberry of Dodson Branch, six grandchildren: Shana Randolph of New York: Anissa (Randy) Spicer, Amber Haney, Chance (Meggen) Mathis, Kendra Hicks and Kelley Garrison, all of Cookeville; seven great-grandchildren: Lacie West, Zach Randolph, Brandie Spicer, Antwaun Latrell Haney, Aaliyah Jade Haney, Ava Leann Mathis and Alaina Chevelle Mathis; 1 great-great grandchild: Bailey Renea West.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Haney Garrison, a granddaughter: Kaitlyn Leigh Garrison, three sisters: Margie Jones, Francis Loftis and Edith Holder and two brothers: Carl B. Allen and Arthur Allen.
Pall Bearers will be family and friends.
Bro. Ronnie Dunn and Bro. Harold Walker will officiate at the services.

Funeral Services for Haney T. Garrison, age 88, will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012, @ 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Cookeville Funeral Home with interment in the Smyrna Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 3, 2012, from 4:00 – 9:00 pm and on Saturday, August 4, 2012, from 10:00 am until time of the services. Mr. Garrison passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born November 11, 1923, in Jackson County, TN to the late Archie Addison and Lou Burgess Garrison. Mr. Garrison was retired from Fleetguard and was a member of the Dodson Branch Free Will Baptist Church. He loved his family and his church family and enjoyed spending time with them. He enjoyed fishing, bluegrass banjo music, watching westerns on television, and was a big Atlanta Braves Fan. Haney will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife of forty-seven (47) years; Martha Lou Allen Garrison of Cookeville; a son and daughter-in-law: Mike and Sandy Garrison of Cookeville, a daughter; Patsy Mayberry of Dodson Branch, two granddaughters: Kendra Hicks and Kelley Garrison both of Cookeville and a brother: Henry Garrison of Jackson County, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter: Kaitlyn Garrison, three sisters: Gillie Garrison, Effie Garrison Allen and Cletis "Toot" Garrison and two brothers: James Walter Garrison and Hite Burgess Garrison. Pall Bearers will be Shane Roberts, Johnny and Kenneth Grogan, Dale Allen, Rick Polston and Quintin Fox. Bro. Clayton Lee, Jr., Bro. Ronnie Dunn and Bro. Harold Walker will officiate at the services.
