Mrs. Holder went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 7, 1934, in Jackson County to the late Harve and Lillie Mansell Allen.
Edith was well known by so many throughout Jackson and Putnam Counties. She sold real estate for many years and managed rental properties. She loved shopping yard sales and flea markets, but most of all she was an extraordinary person and a loving servant. At the time of her death, she was working at Cookeville Funeral Home in public relations. She was a member of Heavenly Host Lutheran Church.
Her family includes a son and daughterinlaw, Danny and Jeanie Holder of Putnam County; a grandson and his wife, Alan and April Holder of Sewanee; and two granddaughters, Katlyn and Alyssa Holder, both of Sewanee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Holder, and a daughterinlaw, Karen Holder.
