Lewie Albert Branscum, son of the late Albert Branscum and Beulah Bagwell Branscum, was born April 27, 1938 in Culp, Arkansas. He departed this life February 8, 2020 in Fifty-six, Arkansas at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 12 days. He was married to Katherine White from 1958 until her death in 1997 and together they raised 5 children. In July of 1999, he was united in marriage to Marie Reed. Lewie spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. Most of his working years were spent at the U. S. Forestry Service, retiring after 40 years of employment. Lewie was of the Christian faith.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years: Marie Branscum of the home; one son and daughter-in-law: Keith and Cindy Branscum of Fifty-six; two daughters: Karla Sartin of Culp and Michelle Branscum of Mountain View; one brother: Jim Branscum and wife Linda of Culp; six grandchildren: Tommy Branscum, Kasie Cox, Elmer Branscum, Kayla Sartin, Hunter Branscum, Dustin Turner; eleven great grandchildren; three stepchildren: Judy Young (John) of Phoenix, Arizona, Tracy Reed (Patricia) and Chris Reed (Michelle) all of Overland Park, Kansas and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; two children: Tammy Branscum and Ernest Branscum; six brothers; three sisters; one stepdaughter: Jeanie Peterson and one infant great grandson.

Visitation and funeral service will be Monday, February 10 at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. Funeral service begins at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Branscum Cemetery in Culp.

Pallbearers: Hunter Branscum, Tommy Branscum, Elmer Branscum, Dustin Turner, Jerry Branscum, Terry Branscum and Jerry Branscum.

Honorary Pallbearers: Jim Branscum and Claude Freeman.
