Leffel G. Branscum, son of the late Albert and Beulah Bagwell Branscum, was born July 12, 1933 in Culp, Arkansas. He departed this life July 14, 2017 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 84 years and 2 days. He was united in marriage to Elnora Curtis Branscum, August 21, 1954 in Stone County, Arkansas. Together they raised two daughters and one son. Leffell spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend. During his working years, he worked as a farmer, logger and for the National Forestry Service.
Leffel is survived by two daughters: Betty Woods and husband Burlin of Norfork and Phyllis Branscum of Culp; one son: Terry Branscum and wife Brenda of Mountain View; two granddaughters: Tristy Gosser and husband Cody and Miranda Worthey; four grandsons: Charnce Woods and wife April; Justin Woods and wife Cara, Clayton Branscum, Kevin Pool; eleven great grandchildren: Aaron, Ashton, Emily, Bella and Olivia Woods, Braxton and Conner Pool, Aiden and Caitlyn Branscum, Lawson Worthey and Scarlett Stowers; two brothers: Lewie Branscum of Calico Rock and Jim Branscum of Culp and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; five brothers: Buster, Carl, Bud, Arvey C and Harvey D Branscum; three sisters: Mary Phifer, Zella Cox and Jarlene Chism.
Visitation will be Monday, July 17, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel with Gale Wooten officiating. Burial will be at Branscum Cemetery.
