Arvey C. Branscum, son of the late Albert Branscum and Beulah Bagwell Branscum, was born March 30, 1940 in Culp, Arkansas. He departed this life July 29, 2015 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 30 days. He spent his life as a son, brother, nephew, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. During his working years, he worked for the Forestry Department, he was a logger and farmer. He attended church at Grace Fellowship Church in Dolph, Arkansas.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: David and Tina Branscum of Pineville; two daughters and two sons-in-law: Connie and Gary Gaston and Teresa and Rick Foster all of Pineville; three brothers: Leffel Branscum of Culp, Lewie Branscum of Calico Rock and Jim Branscum of Culp; his long time companion and best friend: Juanita Hankins of Calico Rock; eight grandchildren: Sondra Sherrill, Catherine Gaston, Joey Gaston, Randal Beard, Trish Beard, Nick Beard, Jessica Branscum and Sami Jo Branscum; twenty-one great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: one grandson: Keith Hendrix; three sisters: Zella Cox, Jarlene Chism, Mary Phiefer; four brothers: Buster Branscum, Bud Branscum, Carl Branscum and Harvey D. Branscum.
Funeral service will be Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with John Higgins officiating. Burial will be at Branscum Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Visitation will be Saturday, August 1 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
Pallbearers: Terry Branscum, Chris Curtis, Lenn Branscum, Nick Beard, Allan Dunham and Logan Sherrill.
