Zella Juanita Branscum Cox of Calico Rock, daughter of the late Albert and Beulah Bagwell Branscum, was born September 10, 1927 in Stone County. She died on March 10, 2002 in Mountain Home. She was 74.

Mrs. Cox was united in marriage to L. R. "Peck" Cox on July 1, 1946. To this union six children were born.

She spent most of her working years as a homemaker, wife and mother. She was an avid gardener and one of the best cooks in Baxter County. Zella was a born again Christian and of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Marvell and Milo Wilbur of Norfork; Leaquita and Larry Richardson of Culp; and Patsy and Jerry Moody of Culp; one son, Bob Cox of Culp; two sisters, Jerlene Chism of Culp and Mary Pfeifer of Judsonia; seven brothers, Carl Branscum of Winters, California; Bud Branscum of Peshastin, Washington; Leffel Branscum of Calico Rock; Lewie Branscum of Calico Rock; Harvey C. Branscum of Calico Rock; Harvey D. Branscum of Bexar and Jimmy Ray Branscum of Calico Rock; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two children, Adam and Janice Ann and one brother, Buster Branscum.

Funeral services were March 14, 2002 at the Lone Rock Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Robert Cox, Shane Richardson, Junior Richardson, Samuel Hurst, Anthony Hurst and Ron Fears. Honorary pallbearers were Luke Fears, Jerry Moody, Daniel Cunningham, Tommy Callahan, Nathan Sartin and Keith Richardson.

Interment was at Table Rock Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
