MARION - Mr. Hubert Willis Baxley, 84, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at McLeod Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today from the chapel of Richardson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Reedy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Baxley was born in Marion, a son of the late Anna Coleman Baxley and Robert Willis Baxley. He was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Baxley was a farmer and an avid fisherman. He also attended Clemson University.
Mr. Baxley was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Elizabeth Baxley; a son, Robert Willis Baxley; three brothers, James Baxley, Harris Baxley and Thomas Baxley; and three sisters, Virginia Williams, Elizabeth Stackhouse and Louise Shelly.
Mr. Baxley is survived by his wife, Martha Weaver Baxley of the home; sons, Hubert William Baxley (Evelyn) of Murrells Inlet and Michael Dennis Baxley (Charlotte) of Brevard, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Ramona L. Baxley of Longs; stepsons, Billy Lambert (Linda) of Marion and Randy Lambert (Cindy) of Barnwell; brothers, Milton Baxley and Warner Baxley, both of Penderboro; a sister, Carolyn Thomas of Penderboro; as well as 11 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
