ELWOOD -- Mary L. Gerard, 79, died April 2, 2004, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood, following an extended illness.

She was a former employee of Cox's Restaurant in Elwood.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Francis E. Gerard; six children, Diane (husband, Bill) Daleure, Donna Rutledge, Frank (wife, Jean) Gerard, Dave (wife, Denise) Gerard, Rick (wife, Judy) Gerard and Joan (husband, Marvin) Ellis; her brother, Jim (wife, Barbara) Baker; two sisters, Marge (husband, Charles) Jameson and Betty Freeman; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home, 415 S. Anderson St., Elwood, officiated by Sister Rosie Coughlin, Chaplain of St. Vincent Mercy Hospital. Burial will take place at Knox Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made, through the funeral home, to St. Vincent Mercy Hospital's "Believe" campaign.
