Harry James Baker, Jr., age 77, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at his home. He was born on January 29, 1940 in Elwood, IN, the son of the late Harry and Maggie Mae Shrock Baker, Sr.

Jim worked for Morris Automotive and also as a truck driver and police officer. He was a member of Sycamore Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing the guitar.

Jim was preceded in death by his son, Timmy Baker and his daughter, Barbara Tweedle.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara June Caudill Baker of Arkadelphia, five daughters, Penny Baker of Mebane, NC, Linda Grubb (Rob) of Durham, NC, Lori Rutherford (Jerry) of Gurdon, Cheryl Watson of Poplar Bluff, MO and Julie (Bryan) Watson of Gurdon, three sons, Jimmy Baker of Stephens, Tommy Baker (Melody) of Jensen, UT and Lee Baker of Gurdon, one sister, Betty Freeman of Arkadelphia, sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Steve Stephens and James McCain officiating. Interment will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
