Mother, Infant Die At Hospital
Mrs. Inez Allene Baker Crouse, 23, died at St. John's Hospital at 4 a.m. today. A son, James Edward, died at birth yesterday afternoon at the hospital.
She was born Jan 23, 1936 in Anderson, a daughter of Harry J. and May Shrock Baker. The family moved to Elwood shortly after her birth, and she received her schooling in Elwood schools. Mrs. Crouse returned to Anderson five years ago. On Jan 9, 1954, she was married to Robert M. Crouse. She was a member of the Jackson Park Church of God.
Surviving are the husband, Robert M.; one son, Robert Joseph; her parents, Mrs Chester majors of Elwood, and Harry J. Baker Sr., of Elwood; four sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Russell of Union City; Mrs. Margie Jameson of Elwood, Mrs. Betty Freeman of Anderson, and Mrs. Mary Gerard of Elwood; one brother, Harry J. Baker Jr., of Indianapolis.
The bodies were removed to the Harold E. Rozelle Funeral Home where arrangements are being made.

Services for Mrs. Inez Allene Baker Crouse, 23, who died at 4 am Saturday at St. John's Hospital, and her son, James Edward, who died at birth Friday afternoon at the hospital, will be conducted at 2 pm. Tuesday at the Harold E. Rozelle Funeral Home by Rev. George Skinner of Jackson park Church of God,
Her death was due to pneumonia, which also caused the baby's death.
Friends may call at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the East Maplewood Cemetery.
