John Thomas Gan was the first child born to the union of William Carroll Gan and Sallie Ann Farmer.

Johnie, was his nick named. John, was my first great uncle on the Gan side. My grandfather Osey would have been his youngest brother.

John never married. He was a farmer and lived with his brother George Washington Gan until 1920 when he moved Rusk, Texas. He was brought back to be buried in Raleigh Cemetery along his family, Mother, Father, and 6 sibblings.

John G. Gan Dead.(Middle initial T the G is his brother.

John G. Gan, age about 45 years, died Friday of last week in Rusk, his body being brought here and buried in the Raleigh Cemetery Sunday, the funeral service being conducted by Rev. Watts. Mr. Gan made his home near the city with his brother, George Gan, up until a few months ago when he went to Rusk.

The Herald extends sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
