Carl Duane Verwiebe, 83, of Clarksville, Arkansas, died on May 1, 2008, at Johnson Regional Medical Center, in Clarksville. He was born on September 18, 1924, at the Lutherville Community, Arkansas, to the late Anthony and Ollie Ada (Pearson) Verwiebe. He was a retired welder.

Carl is survived by his wife, LaVerne Verwiebe, of North Carolina; two daughters, Rita C. Velasco of Texas and Ruth A Keck of New Jersey; one son, Anthony Carl Verwiebe of Clarksville, Arkansas; three stepchildren, Susan Ellerman, Robert Cagle, and Keith Cagle; five sisters, Nell, Helen, Zelda, Ruby, and Maralee; four brothers, Bill, Johnny, Sonny, and Larry; nineteen grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 5, 2008, at the Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel in Clarksville. All arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville (479) 754-2201.
