Woodrow Coffey,
76, of Oneida, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 16, 1990, at the Scott County Hospital following an extended illness. He was the son of the late John and Henrietta Blevins Coffey and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Emma West Coffey; two sisters: Bessie Goodin and Duchess Litton; and four brothers: Robert, Luther, Bud, and Fred Coffey. Mr. Coffey is survived by two sons: Woodrow Coffey, Jr. of Charleston, S. C., and Michael P. Coffey of Oneida; four sisters: Ina Morris and Agnes Mays, both of Oneida, Christine Davis of Cincinnati, O., and Jennie Newport of Birmingham, Ala.; five grandchildren: Shannon Coffey of Oneida, Kim Hawking, Brian Coffey, Sonya McCrackin, and Mark Coffey, all of Charleston, S. C.; seven great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren: Brent Sexton and Kristen Sexton; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, May 19, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Clyde Martin and Rev. Phillip Kazee officiating. Burial was in the West Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were: Toby Mays, Patrick Mays, Jody Brooks, Steven Stanley, Mike Marcum, Deloy Miller, Mark Coffey, and Brian Coffey. Jones and Son Funeral Home of Oneida was in charge of the arrangements.
