Donald J, Hammon, 55, died Saturday (14 May 1983) in Kalamazoo
Donald J. Hammon, 55 of 417 Davis St., Allegan died Saturday in the Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo, after a long illness.
Born Oct. 26, 1927 in Otsego, the son of Milford E. and Edna B. Hammon, Mr. Hammon was a 1945 graduate of Otsego High School and an Allegan resident for the past 33 years.
Mr. T Hammon worked as a time-keeper and IBM Operator for Rockwell International for 30 years, retiring in 1981 due to disability. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Allegan and was a past church treasurer, Sunday School teacher, and head usher.
On Oct. 26, 1950 in Allegan he married Caroline Anderson, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons and daughter-in-law, Brad and Sari Hammon of Allegan and Ross Hammon at home; a grandson, Tyler; a brother, Milford E. Hammon Jr. of Avon, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Betty (William) Dreger of Otsego and Miss Marleen Hammon of Flint; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were Tuesday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, with his pastor, Dr. Luther R. Livingston officiating. Burial was in Kellogg Cemetery with arrangements by the Allegan Chapel of Gorden Funeral Residence.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Window Fund of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
