Avon Lake
Milford E. "Bud" Hammon, 49, of Avon Lake died yesterday at St. John & West Shore Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was a three-year resident of Avon Lake. He was retired from Westlake Board of Education where he was head custodian.
Survivors include his wife Doreen (Nee Chesar); daughters Angela Burkhead, Robin Nichols and Stacy Followell, all of Michigan, and Autumn Hammon at home; four grandchildren; and sisters Betty Dreger of Michgian and Marleen Hammon of Sarasota, Fla.
Friends may call Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Burmeister Avon Lake Funeral Home, a G.H. Busch Company, 163 Avon-Belden Road. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lake and Avon-Belden Road. The Rev Lynn Schlessman will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Avon.
The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to the memorial fund of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church.
