MRS. PALMER, 88, HARVEY SCOTT'S SISTER, IS DEAD.

Resident of Seattle for past 5 years came across Plains to Oregon in Wagon Train.

Funeral services for Mrs. Harriet Scott Palmer, 88-year-old pioneer resident of the Pacific North West, who died yesterday in a local hospital will be held at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning in the Home Undertaking Company's chapel. The reverend J. D. O. Powers will officiate and cremation will follow.

Mrs. Palmer had lived in Seattle for 5 years at the home of
her daughter. Mrs. Phillip Huff, 993 21st Ave. She was born in Illinois, at the age of 10 years came by wagon train across the Plains with her parents, settling in Oregon, where she lived until coming to Seattle. After the death of her first husband; William R. Mc Cord, she was married to R. A. Palmer,who died several years ago. There were no children via the second marriage. Mrs. Palmer's brother, the late Harvey W. Scott, was editor of the Portland Oregonian for 50 years.

Besides her daughter she is survived by a son, James Mc Cord of Portland and 2 sisters, Mrs. Murray Cook and Mrs. Ellen Latourette both of Oregon

Mrs. Finch R Archer

Funeral services for Mrs. Dora G. Archer,
77 years old, widow of Finch R. Archer. Former warden of McNeil island Federal Penitentiary. Will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Chittenden
Funeral Parlors in Kent. Mrs. Archer died
Monday at Zenith.

Mrs. Archer was born in Forest Grove, Oregon. She came to Washington with her
husband 30 years ago and first settled at
Aberdeen. While her husband was in charge of McNeal Island Prison. Mrs. Archer gained the title of "Mother of McNeal," from men of the institution, for her humanitarian ideals.

Survivors are son, Aubrey; a daughter, Diane; a sister, Mrs. Philip B. Huf, all of Seattle, and a brother James S. McCord,Portland Oregon.
