Eugene Stoops, age 49 of 381 West Main Street, Carmel, Indiana, died this morning at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where he had been a patient for the past month.

A resident of Carmel for eighteen years, he was a Highway Postal Clerk for twenty years. He was a member of the Carmel Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at two p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home in Carmel. The Reverend Thomas Hodson, pastor of the Carmel Methodist Church, will be in charge and interment will be in charge and interment will be in Gettingsville Cemetery near Frankfort, Indiana.

The deceased is survived by his wife, Marguerite; a son, Ronald who is a student at Purdue University; a daughter, Nancy working on her Master's Degree at Bowling Green, Ohio; his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest E. Stoops of Frankfort and three sisters: Mrs. Juanita Bolinger of San Diego, California; Mrs. Louis Click of Mulberry; Mrs. Iola Rodenbarger of Niles, Michigan; as well as three brothers: Wayne Stoops of Goose Bay, Labrador; Charles Stoops of Indianapolis; Olas Stoops of Lafayette and one step-sister, Gladys Unger of Sedalia.
