Mrs. Ethel Stoops Died at Howard County Hospital
A relapse suffered Monday following an operation performed Saturday morning at the Howard County Hospital in Kokomo, Indiana to Mrs. Ethel Stoops, wife of Ernest Stoops, proved fatal to this splendid woman; her death taking place about 2:15 on Tuesday afternoon.
The death is an extremely sad one as Mrs. Stoops leaves a family of seven children. She is also survived by her husband and her mother, Mrs. Florinda Christy of Kirklin, Indiana; as well as two brothers, Everett Christy of Shelbyville and Glen Christy of Indianapolis. She leaves three sisters: Mrs. Byron VanBuskirk of Indianapolis; Mrs. Lydia Henderson of Kirklin; and Mrs. Osla Butcher of the Little, New York community.
Funeral services are to be held at the Liberty Baptist Church, north of Groomsville, on Thursday afternoon at two o'clock ad burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery.
Mrs. Stoops whose maiden name was Ethel Christy, was born in the Little New York community some thirty-five years ago and resided there until her marriage, since which time she and her husband have resided near Geetingsville, Indiana, west of Russiaville in Clinton County, Indiana.
Mrs. Stoops as a splendid Christian woman, for many years being an active member of the Hills Baptist Church with which she was united when a young girl.
Following the death, the body was removed to the home near Geetingsville, Indiana where it will lie in state until the hours of the funeral.
