KINGSPORT — Carl "Cowboy" Grady LaForce, 86, passed away Saturday, (Jan. 21, 2012) in the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Mr. LaForce was born on Nov. 14, 1925, in Clinchfield, Va. Mr. LaForce was a resident of Kingsport most of his life. He was a retired employee of Clinchfield Railroad after 47 years of service. Mr. LaForce was a U.S. Army veteran.

Mr. LaForce was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Grace LaForce; his wife, Lucille LaForce; a son Phillip LaForce; one sister Vivian Hurd; and one brother, Cecil LaForce.

Mr. LaForce is survived by one daughter, Sandra Bryant; and a son, Tim LaForce, both of Kingsport, six sisters, Phyllis Williams, Joyce Owens, Frankie Winebarger and Jan Helton all of Kingsport, Wanda Webb of Church Hill and Carol Watkins of Knoxville; three brothers Everett LaForce, Naples, Fla., Pete LaForce and Lon LaForce, both of Kingsport; five grandchildren Tonia Gibson and husband, Milford, Terry Bryant, Roger Bryant, Johnny Bryant and Kenny Bryant all of Kingsport.; three great- grandchildren, Tabitha, Kelsie and Alexis, all of Kingsport.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor Gorman McMurray officiating.

Music will be provided by the McMurray Brothers.

Military graveside services will be conducted by The Boone Dam Post # 4933 of the VFW and members of the TN. Army National Guard at 11 a.m. Tuesday in East Lawn Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the staff of Wilcox hall at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
