Born in Russell County, Va., she moved to Kingsport at an early age. She attended Bloomingdale Assembly of God Church. She retired from Quebecor Printing Corp., after over 20 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Shaffer and Grace Chaffin LaForce; and one brother, Cecil LaForce.
She is survived by one son, James E. Wright of Church Hill; one granddaughter; six sisters, Phyllis Williams, Joyce Owens, Frances Winebarger, Wanda Webb and Janice Helton, all of Kingsport and Carol Watkins of Philadelphia, Tn.; four brothers, Everett "Jim" LaForce, Carl LaForce, Lon LaForce and Harry Tete' LaForce, all of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at Carter-Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Smith Kestner officiating.
Graveside services were held at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens in Rogersville.
