On December 15, 1870, she married John Henderson "Henry" Jordan. To this union the following seven children were born: Rosa Ann, James Rogers, John McConathy, Willie T, Lon Thomas, Elizabeth "Bettie", and Minnie.
She lost her husband just five months after her youngest child was born. She was a widow with seven children to raise ranging in age from 14 years to 5 months.
