Born in Funkstown, he was a son of Robert Lester and Rosa Lee Wolfe Bailey. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Funkstown; Dixon Troxel Post, No. 211 American Legion; and was a disabled veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his sisters, Mrs. Anna Lee Rowe, Mrs. Isabella Reynold, and Mrs. Thelma Shipley, all of Funkstown, and Mrs. Doris Grimm of Bethesda; and brothers, Clyde Baily and Harold Bailey, both of Hagerstown, Leon Bailey and Richard Bailey, both of Funkstown.
His body has been willed to John Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown on Monday at 7:30 p.m. Donald C. Brake will officiate. Arrangements were handled by the Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro.
