Mrs. ROBERT WELCH
Mrs. Evelyn Morse Welch, wife of Robert Welch, died at the age of 62 early Sunday morning at their Woodford Road trailer. She was a native of Bennington, born in 1912 to Louis Morse and the former Freda Baker Hilchey, received her education in the local schools and was married in 1954.
She was employed by several local factories including the Bennington Brush Co., the Carbon Co., E-Z Mills and also the Albany, N.Y. Box Factory. An ardent reader and seamstress, she was noted for her crocheting and dabbling in water colors. Her kindness in the care of invalids at home will be long remembered.
In addition to her husband, she leaves an adopted son, Robert Welch; a sister, Mrs. Richard Fraser of Bennington; a brother, Ronald Morse of Williamstown, Mass.; and two half brothers, Stephen and Robert Hilchey of Bennington.
The funeral will be conducted tonight at 7:30 at the Gibney Funeral Home by the Rev. Floyd I. La Bombard, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bennington. Burial will be in the White Chapel Cemetery at a later date. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad through the funeral home office.
