Funeral services for Russell N. Altwies, 22, route 3, town of Farmington, who died Thursday night, will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the residence and at 2 o'clock at St Peter's Evangelical Lutheran church at Helenville, of which he was a member. Rev. Edward Fredrich will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, Helenville.
Russell was born on 12 June 1916, in the town of Farmington, the son of Mr and Mrs H. Claude Altwies. He was a life long resident of the town of Farmington. Surviving are his parents; his parental grandparents, Mr and Mrs Peter Altwies and his maternal grandmother, Mrs Johanna Gruennert; six brothers and sisters, Warren, Lyle, Wesley, Joyce and Audrey, at home and Clifford at Johnson Creek.
The body is now at the Nowack Funeral home. On Sunday morning it will be taken to the family residence.
Although Russell has been an invalid since birth, he bore his trials uncomplainingly and with Christian fortitude. He was a lover of nature and took delight in drawing and painting, especially flowers. Some of his art work took prizes at the county fair.
