A BOY DROWNED - A 16-year-old lad named Albert Fleiner, who lives south of the city, was droned in the Missouri River Sunday afternoon in attempting to cross on the ice.
With some companions he had crossed on the ice in the morning for the purpose of shooting ducks at the lakes, As he was returning the ice broke. He tried to swim to the shore, and his companions, who had not yet started across, procured a rope and made every effort to throw it to him, but could not reach him and he drowned. there was no current at the place where the boy was drowned, and the body was recovered later in the evening. Charles Fleiner of this city is a brother of the boy.
The funeral will occur today from the family residence, and the burial will take place at Sumner. Young Fleiner was a bright boy, and his family is nearly crazed with grief.
