He was the third child of Charles and Elizabeth Fleiner.

Joseph Fleiner, 68, well known farmer, died early this morning in the Atchison hospital where he had been a patient for the last five days. Mr. Fleiner had been ill for the last two weeks with stomach trouble.
Joe Fleiner was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, September 22, 1861. He came to Atchison with his parents, the late Chrles A. and Elizabeth Fleiner in 1863. They lived here for a year and then moved to the Sumner neighborhood south of Atchison. The family lived there for a short time and then moved to Waterville, Kansas. Mr. Fleiner came back to Atchison County in 1884 and located on a farm south of Atchison, where he since lived.
He is survived by two brothers, Charles Fleiner of the home; and George Fleiner, south of Atchison; and two sisters, Miss Ella Fleiner, of the home; and Mrs. Rose Reichle, south of Atchison.
Funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon from the Harouff & Buis funeral home with burial in the Sumner cemetery. The Rev. W.E. Wheeler, pastor of St. Mark's Lutheran church, will officiate. The Odd Fellows will have charge of the service at the grave.
