Stella's name was Estella Justa Balboa. In English Estella becomes Stella( Star). Stella was the daughter of Berbnardo Porfidio Balboa and Emilia (Minnie) Amelia Olivas. She was born in San Antonio, TX. She went to Providence High School in San Antonio, TX. At a young age she worked at a local drug store. This is where she met her husband Turner Greaves Johnson. They had four girls. They moved to MS. then CA.,and back to TX. Stella loved to go on treasure hunts with her husband and kids. They invested in a medal detector and would travel all over TX. hoping to hit it big. Stella loved to dance and was always the life of the party. Her nickname was Tillie. She loved yellow roses and the the song the " Yellow Rose of TX " Her other favorite songs were "Pretty Women" and "Celito Lindo". Stella loved children and would go out of her way to help take care of her grandchildren. She taught her girls to cook and clean and do for themselves but most of all she taught them about love. She loved all her family and made sure to keep in touch with everyone of them. Aunts, Uncles, and cousins alike. She would always make sure her children knew her family and how they were connected. Stella died in the Fort Sam Houston Hospital in San Antonio from complications from Diabetes. She was surrounded by her Children, Grandchildren, Greatgrand children,and other family and friends all praying for her.
